freeway teddy bear

twenty miles south of Vegas

outside my window

hummingbirds guzzle nectar

old cat licks his chops

trying to quench my deep thirst

from a leaky jar

they say it’s coming

day of judgment, day of wrath

have to wait and see

waiting for the sun
