Frogs are lucky in many cultures. In Japanese kaeru means frog and relates to returning safely for travelers. In the beginning of my adventure my frog friend injured a leg…so I am ‘carrying it’. But there are symbolic frog good luck charms people can carry in their pockets.
I also happen to collect ‘frogs’. So having a frog for a travel companion (in my writing) isn’t a big stretch. 🙂
