Your words picture a world…. I can hear the birches scrape their throats and picture some sort of ‘Ent’ (the trees from Tolkien’s ‘Lord of the Rings’ books… are they called ‘ent’ in the English version too???
I love the ‘Ents’ of Tolkien too and they are granted here with your nice haiku. And than you are living near the desert … I think you haven’t Silver Birches in your surroundings. Nice haiku. Thank you for participating in Carpe Diem.

Oh, yes, they are Ents in English too. I loved the Ents from the time I first met them when I read the trilogy in college.
Even I thought of those royal Ents reading this haiku !

Stunning images of birches ~ Love this ~
I’ve only heard aspens quiver and they are gold.
Hypnotic…cuts right to the chase, or in this case, throat.
Thanks. Love this.

I used to live in a little wooden cottage set among silver birch trees, oh I loved their quivering when the breezes blew, thanks for taking me back.
